Ewies F. EWIES was born and brought up in Bani-swef, Egypt. He studied Chemistry at the University of Cairo, Egypt, and gained his bachelor's degree in 2001 in Chemistry and Biochemistry (very good, 79.05%). He stayed at Cairo to study for a MSc and PhD in Organic chemistry with Prof. Leila S. Boulos. Two periods of post-doctoral research at the University of Le Havre, France (with Prof. Mohamed Othman) and University of Coimbra, Portugal (with Prof. Teresa M. V. D. Pinho e Melo) were followed by his first academic appointment at National Research Cenre in 2003. He was promoted to Professor of Synthetic Organic Chemistry at Cairo, National Research Centre in 2023. His research interests encompass synthesis of pharmaceutical active compounds. He serves as an editor in Chief for EJCHEM. He published about 50 articles in medicinal chemistry.
